Holiday reception furniture: Not just for the holidays

The holiday season is upon us and looking at the Holiday range of contract reception furniture from FB Studio, I couldn’t help but think how versatile the pieces in this collection are, how easy and fun it would be to give them a touch of the spirit of whatever holiday is being or going to be celebrated.

The wooden frame of the two-seater, armchair, and easy chair in the Holiday set are upholstered with durable, non-deformable polyurethane foam with polyester fiber. The legs are made from chrome metal and the seat rests on elastic belts or a wooden panel. Their dimensions are as follows:

  • 2-seater: 140 cm wide, 71 cm high
  • Armchair: 76 cm (width), 72 cm (depth), 71 cm (overall height), 43 cm (seat height)
  • Easy chair: 76 cm (width), 72 cm (depth), 91 cm (overall height), 43 cm (seat height)

Finishes are available in either fabric or leather, but various upholstery fabrics can be used, either from the standard range or the client’s own preference. And since various fabrics can be used, it would be nice to change them from time to time to emphasize a restaurant’s holiday atmosphere in the reception area while guests wait to be seated.

For example, covering it with fabric in earth tones or one designed with turkeys, leaves, pumpkins, ears of corn, and the like would probably make a person think of Thanksgiving or autumn. Similarly, if the chairs are covered in red upholstery, with a few heart-shaped pillows here and there, and some bowls of candy on side tables, guests would hardly miss the not-too-subtle suggestion of a Valentine’s Day meal. On the other hand, upholstery fabrics patterned with pine trees, reindeer, and snowflakes would reinforce some Christmas cheer. Hang some mistletoe over the two-seater to encourage some Christmas love between the two people sitting in it before they enjoy their meal…now that sounds like a good way to have some fun in the reception area.
